Hoop Net Fishing
Experience hoop net charters aboard Finaddict during lobster season which runs from
October to March each year. Hoop netting is done at night when lobsters are foraging for food.

We leave an hour or two before dark to get to the fishing areas and drop our nets. We can drop up to 10 nets at a time. Finaddict has a red riser to assist with pulling in the nets. The red riser allows for pulling in the nets in a standing vertical position making pulling easier, faster and with less fatigue.

Lobsters live and hide in holes, crevices and caves. They leave these structures at night to hunt for food in the darkness. We usually hoop net for lobster in 15’ to 100’ of water where structure is found – piers, kelp beds, reefs, eel grass beds, wrecks, etc. Lobster can be found near these structures as they provide lobster’s with protection.

Please note that hoop net fishing requires a Lobster Report Card in addition to a valid sportfishing license; available at: http://www.dfg.ca.gov/licensing/ols/
